Time to Pack!
Below are a few suggestions of what to bring for your sea kayaking experience. If you are joining us on one of our Roaming trips then click the link to access specific information for you.
We will provide
Kayak, spray deck, buoyancy aid, paddle, cagoul/jacket, helmet, long-john wetsuit, and first rate coaching, plenty of adventure and hopefully some sun shine - technically that last bit is out of our hands tee-hee!!
Suggested kit for you to bring
If you are joining us in the Isles of Scilly the Scillonian ferry crew appreciate it if you can pack your stuff in more bags that are lighter rather than all in one or two heavy bags. You will also notice it as it is tradition for everyone to form a chain to help unload the luggage from the inter-island ferry once you arrive on St Martins.
-
A thermal to wear under the cag while paddling (merino wool or I use Reed Chillcheater thermals that are warm when wet)
-
A fleece to go under the Cag while paddling, should it be cooler
-
Wet suit boots, old trainers that you can get wet or Crocs are good when worn with wetsuit socks
-
warm hat
-
An insulated jacket (primaloft instead of down as this is better if it gets wet).
-
Dry bag to carry the above fleece and jacket in the kayak in case the weather is cooler or for when we stop on a beach.
-
Rash vest or quick dry t-shirt - for warmer days on the water
-
Shorts/leggings for warmer days on the water
